Series R™ R’newal® Service Program
Under normal conditions, compressor components can wear and tear over time. The Series R R’newal Service Program works to restore RTAA, RTAC, RTHA, RTHB, RTHC, RTHD, and RTUA, RTWA, RTUD and RTWD compressors to the manufacture’s original commitment of reliability and performance.

AFD R’newal® Service Program
The AFD R’newal program is the best way to detect and remedy minor problems before they become catastrophic failures. Major benefits of the program include:
- – Reliability. Power control boards, power semiconductors, and electrolytic capacitors all wear. The best way to prevent random failure is by performing a scheduled R’newal on the drive.
- – Speed. Repair of a failed AFD is never fast. Assuming the work can be scheduled (always an “if” during cooling season), an AFD failure can mean days of downtime during cooling season.
- – Factory Warranty. The factory warranty option demonstrates the high value Trane places on its AFD and the service technicians who work on them.

Tracer AdaptiView™ Control Upgrades
The Tracer AdaptiView control panel with Adaptive Control keeps your chiller online when other chillers shut down. For Series R, AdaptiView upgrades are available for models RTHA, RTHB, RTHC and RTHD. For Trane CenTraVac, all models can be upgraded, including those with pneumatic and electro-mechanical unit control systems. Competitive centrifugal chillers can also be upgraded to Trane AdaptiView Control. The AdaptiView retrofit chiller control panel brings Trane’s industry leading feedforward control algorithms to the aftermarket. With a full color touch-screen display, interactive animated graphics (including those for legacy chiller models), and 24 languages, operators can view, access and control chiller operations and functions and gain insight into the operating patterns, energy use and system performance.
CenTraVac® R’newal® Service Program
Trane engineers CenTraVac chillers to last long beyond the industry average, but any chiller will experience normal wear and tear over decades of use. The CenTraVac R’newal program addresses the most common causes of performance decline. It’s a planned maintenance approach that reduces unplanned downtime, renews reliability and extends the life of your chiller—giving you more years of worry-free chiller performance.

EarthWise™ Refrigerant Purge Upgrades
The Trane EarthWise chiller purge is designed to remove air and moisture from any low-pressure chiller while minimizing refrigerant emissions. It consists of its own refrigeration system, air pump out system, self-regenerating carbon tank, LCD human interface, and microelectronic controls. It serves not only as a leak detector but it also improves chiller efficiency, minimizes repairs and extends the life of a chiller. The EarthWise chiller purge is designed to work on any manufacturer’s low-pressure chillers that use CFC-11, CFC-113, and HCFC-123.
- – The auto-regen feature ensures that the purge will operate at peak efficiency throughout its life with less maintenance. Lower costs for service and for refrigerant loss.
- – The most advanced display in the purge market provides smarter reports that are easier to use than ever before.

IntelliPak Refresh Service Program
Trane’s IntelliPak Refresh service program is a factory-warranty solution to replace worn materials, restore unit performance, and provide the same reliability for the replaced materials as seen on new IntelliPak units. This program is offered for Trane IntelliPak style rooftop units built in the 1980s or later. The base refresh generally takes technicians less than a day to install and is usually combined with other scheduled service. It includes these components:
- – Replacing materials items that commonly fail later in the unit’s life
- – Refresh materials to restore lost efficiency
- – Proactively replace components whose failure results in significant downtime
- – Install new Trane R’newal serial number and plaque
