Hunton Services is a BuyBoard Vendor

We are incredibly proud to have been selected by the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative as an approved contractor for Energy Conservation and Efficiency (681-22).

By relentlessly pursuing a sustainable future and building enduring relationships, we positively impact the world indoors. At Hunton, that is our mission and our promise. When creating and maintaining comfortable indoor environments, we have remained on the cutting edge since our founding in 1981. As our world continues to modernize, energy conservation has become integral to every job we do, and we consistently lead our industry in terms of capabilities and experience.

While most modern facilities are far more complicated than you might realize, the primary areas where significant energy, efficiency, and cost savings are found can be broken down into these six categories.

  1. Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning – HVAC is crucial to creating comfortable indoor spaces for people to live, work, learn, and play. However, it typically accounts for a large portion of a facility’s regular energy costs. Utilizing high-efficiency equipment and properly servicing and maintaining it over its lifespan can significantly reduce operating expenses while improving the quality of life for those inside.
  2. Lighting – With incredible advancements in LED technology over the last decade, this has become a significant area of focus for energy savings with a relatively low adoption cost. More efficient lighting also introduces less ambient heat to the indoor space, translating to less work needed from the HVAC system.
  3. Insulation – This isn’t a new concept by any means, but new and innovative solutions are constantly being developed to solve this age-old problem. Adding or replacing insulation can make a noticeable impact, particularly with older facilities.
  4. Building Envelope – Ensuring your building is properly sealed from the outside elements is instrumental in managing any structure’s energy costs. A properly maintained building envelope limits unwanted heat transfer with the outside world, providing more consistency and control of your conditioned spaces.
  5. Water – By now, most people are familiar with faucets, fixtures, and appliances designed to use less water. What many don’t realize is that the average residential HVAC system can produce 5-20 gallons of water per day as a byproduct of cooling and dehumidifying the air. When harnessed correctly at scale, larger facilities can collect and store this excess water to offset usage in other areas, like irrigation.
  6. Automation – This is a real game-changer regarding energy conservation and efficiency. By connecting a facility’s HVAC, lighting, and water to a centralized control system, schedules and rules can be set to reduce unnecessary expenses for unoccupied spaces. Taking this concept a step further into the modern world, introducing AI to a controlled environment can help squeeze even more efficiency gains out of a facility.

Our team of experts specializes in proactively identifying deficiencies, optimizing systems, and installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment needed to reduce your facility’s annual operating costs. If you’d like to learn more about how we can help you meet your environmental, sustainability, and budgetary goals, call us today at 713-643-8336.
